What is safe on stone, wood, induction and grout

The wrong bottle ruins a counter in under a minute. This is the matrix our crews carry, and the reason we ask what your surfaces are before the first visit.

Deep clean vs recurring, task by task

Who holds your key, and where

We are in your house when you are not. Here is exactly how access is handled.

  • Smart-lock code first

Our preferred entry is a one-time or recurring smart-lock code that expires at 6 pm on the day of service. You create it, we never store a permanent one.

  • Physical keys are coded, never labelled

A held key carries a numeric tag only. No address, no name, no key ring fob. Tags map to accounts inside the scheduling system, not on paper.

  • Locked cabinet, signed out daily

Keys live in a locked cabinet at the East Austin office. A crew lead signs one out in the morning and signs it back in the same afternoon.

  • Alarm codes stay encrypted

Codes sit in an encrypted field visible only to the dispatcher and the assigned crew lead. They are never texted, printed on a route sheet or read aloud.

  • Arrival and exit timestamps

You get a text when the crew arrives and another when they lock up. Ask for a door photo on exit and it is attached to the second message.

  • Returned or destroyed in 3 business days

Cancel and your key comes back by hand or is cut up and photographed, your choice, within three business days. Smart-lock access is deleted the same day.

  • Employees only, re-screened every 2 years

No subcontractors and no day labour. Every cleaner is a W-2 employee, background checked at hire and again every two years.

Why our crews do better work

Before the first clean

Pets, payment, parking and what happens if something gets missed.

Prices start from the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, then adjust for the type of clean and how often we visit. The estimator on our site uses the same formula our office uses, so the price you see is the price you pay unless the home is very different from what was described.

No. About 70% of our clients are at work or out during cleans. You can leave a key, share a lockbox code or give a smart lock code, which we store encrypted.

Every Brightwell cleaner is a W-2 employee with paid training, paid time off and a real schedule. We never subcontract your home to strangers.

Our standard kit is EPA Safer Choice certified and plant-based, with refillable glass spray bottles. We use a hospital-grade disinfectant only on request or for commercial clients.

If anything on our checklist was missed, tell us within 24 hours. We return to re-clean those areas at no charge, usually within one business day.

The pet and allergen protocol

Dander, cedar season and a cat's liver chemistry all change how a house should be cleaned. This is what changes on our truck.

  • Damp dusting only, never dry

Dry dusting aerosolises dander and it settles again within the hour. Every surface is worked with a damp microfiber so the dander leaves in the cloth.

  • Sealed HEPA vacuums, filters logged

Sealed-body machines with HEPA media, changed every 40 run hours. An unsealed vacuum exhausts most of what it picks up back into the room.

  • Colour-coded cloths, washed at 140F

Blue for glass, green for kitchen, red for bathroom, yellow for general dust. Cloths are bagged after each home and laundered at 140F, never reused between houses.

  • No phenols, no pine oil, no concentrated oils

Phenolic disinfectants and pine oil are toxic to cats, which cannot metabolise them. Tea tree and eucalyptus concentrates are off the truck for the same reason.

  • No ammonia near a litter box

Ammonia reads as a urine marker to a cat and invites repeat marking on the spot you just cleaned. Litter areas get an enzyme cleaner instead.

  • Cedar season add-on, December to February

During Ashe juniper season we vacuum return grilles and note your filter date. A MERV 11 to 13 filter changed every 60 days is what actually moves the needle.

  • Fragrance-free kit at no charge

Asthma or scent sensitivity in the house? Say so on the job card and the crew arrives with the unscented kit. There is no upcharge and no substitution.

Clean enough for crawling babies and curious dogs

Our standard kit is plant-based and EPA Safer Choice certified. No upcharge, no strong fragrance, no residue left on the floors your pets walk on.

Hand holding an amber glass spray bottle

0 single-use spray bottles since 2019

  • Plant-based formulas

Citrus and coconut surfactants that cut grease without chlorine fumes. EPA Safer Choice certified, with no upcharge.

  • Refillable glass bottles

Concentrates are mixed at our East Austin office and refilled every week, so no single-use plastic leaves with the crew.

  • Washable microfiber

Color-coded cloths by room, laundered in hot water after every home. Bathroom cloths never touch your kitchen.

  • Sealed HEPA vacuums

Capture pollen, dander and dust instead of blowing it back into the room. A real difference during cedar season.

  • Amber glass cleaning bottles lined up in sunlight

What a crew of two covers in 3 hours

3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, kitchen, living room, dining room, stairs and hallway

  • Maintenance scope on a home already at standard, about 2,000 sq ft
  • First visits run 45 to 75 minutes longer because the home is not at standard yet
  • Heavy pet hair adds roughly 25 cleaner-minutes to carpeted rooms

We do not sell hours. We sell a standard.

The same two people, the same written checklist, the same products, in the same order, every single visit. Our crews are employees on a real wage, not a rotating cast of contractors, because the person who feels looked after is the person who lifts the sofa cushions.

When the standard slips, tell us within 24 hours and we come back and fix it at our cost. No argument, no partial credit, no fine print. Ten years in Austin and that has never once been the expensive choice.
